Since November 2014, Safer Streets has been offering free self-defense classes for women experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental health or addiction issues, for sex workers, and for survivors of violence or abuse. These classes are held at various locations throughout the Portland Metro area on the 2nd Saturday of every month at 11am. We strive to ensure greatest accessibility by having these classes at a different location each month. We hope to give the tools to help increase the well-being and safety of those in our community who are often most vulnerable to acts of violence.
